The starting point
The store ran on Shopify and sold men’s and women’s undergarments, 7-piece comforter sets, fitted sheets, pillow covers, bathrobes, towels, mats and a footwear line. When we ran our technical audit on January 17, 2022, the site was brand new. Crawling, mobile layout and robots.txt were fine, but the blog wasn’t active yet, and the store needed a logo, social graphics and copy for its products.
The audit’s conclusion was short: the site needed its pages indexed properly and a strong social media presence.
What we did
- Audited the store We checked the sitemap and submitted it to Google, ran the homepage through the W3C validator (minor script errors only), tested mobile speed and responsiveness, and confirmed robots.txt.
- Designed the brand On January 20 we delivered the logo in AI, SVG and PNG with a favicon and a transparent website version, then Facebook cover and social profile graphics.
- Wrote the product catalog Between February 7 and 19 we wrote 62 product title and description documents: 12 for men’s undergarments and 50 for household products, including 28 comforter sets. Titles follow one pattern: product name, a search phrase, then the store name.
- Checked tracking and cleaned links Test orders placed on February 3 showed up as goals in Google Analytics. We also reviewed referring domains and submitted 2 spammy domains to Google’s disavow tool.
- Started content and social Two blog articles went live in late January: how to check garment quality, and why to shop online with the store. We designed an 8-post set for men’s products plus banners and wrote post copy with product links, hashtags and the store’s shipping and returns terms.

What changed
Both biweekly reports noted that the set of search queries the store appeared for in Google Search Console had grown compared with the previous period, a sign Google was picking up new pages and product terms. The reports didn’t put a number on it, and we’re not going to guess one.
What the store did get was a finished catalog voice and a brand it could use everywhere. The store had titles and descriptions ready for 62 products, and the logo, covers and post graphics matched.
What we’d point out
Five weeks is too short to judge SEO on rankings or sales, and we don’t have those numbers. Read this as a launch-stage job: brand, copy, tracking and a clean technical base, which is the groundwork a new store needs before results can be measured.
If you’re opening a store and starting from zero, branding and design and product content writing are usually the first two things to fix.
