Google DeepMind released Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash on November 5, 2026. The AI video model makes clips up to 15 seconds long and, according to Google’s announcement, costs 30% less than Omni 1.1. Google says it’s generally available through the Gemini API and Google Cloud, and it’s rolling out inside Google Vids and Gemini for business.
What’s new
- Clips from 3 to 15 seconds, set in one-second steps. Omni 1.1 stopped at 10 seconds.
- Closer adherence to reference images, so faces, products, packaging text and brand colors hold steady across shots, Google says.
- Multi-turn editing: swap a background, product or aspect ratio with a follow-up prompt instead of generating the clip again.
- API pricing of $0.07 per second for 720p video, per Google, with drafts at 360p or 720p and upscaling to 1080p or 4K.
In Google Vids, the Workspace Updates blog says the model began a full rollout on November 5 for Business Starter, Standard and Plus, the Enterprise plans and several other editions. There’s no admin setting to switch on.
Who it affects
Small teams that make short social clips, product explainers or video ads are the obvious audience. Fifteen seconds is enough for a full Reels or Shorts ad in one generation, and the consistency fix matters to anyone who has watched an AI product shot change shape halfway through a clip. Developers building content tools on the Gemini API get a cheaper model to test.
Advertisers should keep labeling rules in mind. Google Ads now shows visible AI labels on assets marked as AI-made in campaigns that target the EU, India, New York, California, South Korea and Vietnam, according to its help center.
Our take
We’d test it before changing your content plan. Pick one recurring format, such as a product spin or a short how-to clip, feed it your real product photos as references, and compare the cost and review time against stock footage or a shoot. Keep a person reviewing every clip before it’s published, and label AI-made assets wherever the platform asks.
