Shopify has made Campaign Autopilot available to all merchants, adding more ad channels and a new set of SEO suggestions. The company announced the change in its changelog on October 28, 2026, and the tool now lives under the Growth tab in Shopify admin.
What’s new
Campaign Autopilot asks for a budget and guardrails, then looks at your store, products and customers and builds a campaign across several channels. Shopify lists Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Snapchat, Shop and Shopify Messaging, with X Ads coming soon. It decides which channels to run, how to split spend, and moves budget toward what’s working.
The second addition is SEO. Autopilot now suggests SEO changes that you review and approve before they go live, and Shopify says you can also ask Sidekick, its admin assistant, for SEO updates directly.
To set it up, open the Growth tab in Shopify admin. Shopify points merchants to its Help Center for the setup steps, and the changelog files the update under Admin features.
Who it affects
Small Shopify stores without a dedicated ads person are the obvious audience, since Autopilot handles channel choice and budget splits on its own. Stores that already run their own Meta or Microsoft campaigns should be careful: two systems buying the same audience can bid against each other and muddy your reporting. Google Ads isn’t among the channels Shopify named, so plan on keeping search ads managed where they are now.
Our take
Try it, with limits. Start with a small test budget, set tight guardrails, and run it alongside your existing campaigns before you cut anything. Compare cost per order from the Autopilot campaign against your current channels using Shopify’s own order data, and give it at least two full weeks before you judge it, since any system that shifts budget needs time to learn. Read every SEO suggestion before you approve it, and turn down any change that rewrites product titles or descriptions in ways that drop the terms customers actually search for.
